This environment is designed to support principals in performing daily tasks and addressing the problems associated with this important administrative role.

VIC provides:

• Membership in a virtual leadership team

Principals sometimes feel isolated in their individual schools. VIC provides an opportunity for principals to engage in professional dialogue. Specifically, the user will have the opportunity to engage in discussions with other practicing administrators regarding real situations and real challenges.

• Access to archived leadership challenges and solutions

Users will be able to complete a keyword search of leadership challenges principals have faced in the past. Each report provides a detailed analysis of the situation and a suggested process to follow in analyzing the problem. Further, it provides a suggested course of action to follow in addressing each problem.

• VIC’s advice on real-time problems

Principals will have the opportunity to pose a leadership challenge for expert analysis. Within 24 hours, the request will be addressed by administrative experts (often retired administrators) who will provide a recommended course of action based on knowledge and wisdom gained over years of experience.

In addition, principals will also have the option of posting the challenge to peers for response. These problems and the recommended solutions will be placed in our archived leadership challenge section of the environment and will be available for future use by school leaders.
